Envelopes [Irkutsk]. 100 years to the first transcontinental automobile race Pekin-Paris

Description: The first transcontinental automobile race of rally Pekin-Paris took place in May - August, 1907 On start in Pekin send only five crews: The-car " Itala Gran At 35/45 " (Itala) the Turin firm " Factory di Automobili Inala " (with the driver prince Stsipione Borgeze, mechanic Ettore Guitstsiardi and Luigi Bartsini - the journalist of the newspaper " Corriere della Sera "); - " Spyker-Sp-15 HP " - the Dutch automobile firm of brothers �� (driver Charles Godar, �� - the correspondent of the newspaper " Le Matin "); - two cars of French firm "De Dion-Bouton" (drivers George Kome and A.Ponse) and tricikl "Kontal"); - made in France (tricikl which has reached only to desert Gobbi in Mongolia). The 16000-kilometer way abounded with adventures! About this automobile race books are written and films are removed - this phenomenon in a public life of beginning XX of a century of all world was so significant. The route passed on the several countries on cities: Pekin - �� (Ulan Bator) - Kyakhta - Werhneudinsk (Ulan-Ude) - Irkutsk - Krasnoyarsk - Tomsk - Omsk - Perm-�áºá¡ý - Nizhni Novgorod - Moscow - St.-Petersburg - Warsaw - Berlin - Cologne - Bruxelles - Paris. On July, 1st (on June, 18th) 1907 participants of automobile race have arrived to Irkutsk; the first " there has arrived on the car prince Borgeze " at night. " On June, 20th (3.07) profits other participants of race with six cars by rail ". Apparently, besides participants of race went and it is simple travellers as in "Annals" from July, 6th on June, (23.06 there is a following record: " Have passed �� Irkutsk three cars of foreign travellers ". The solemn finish took place twice - on August, 10th when "Itala" has solemnly driven to Paris under music of a march from "Aida" and on August, 30th - almost simultaneously finished "De Dion's" pair and "Spyker". In the end of 1907 in Paris were series of postcards J.Barreau " Raid Pekin-Paris ". On the sketch to ��, executed at participation of artist Korobovoj G.V., post card J.Barreau where "De Dion's" pair is embodied leave Irkutsk - an output to a scow on � is used.
