Envelopes [Irkutsk]. Monument in honour of a structure of a great Siberian railway path

Description: Monument to Emperor Alexander III (1908). From a monument the pedestal of a monument to Alexander III was kept up to now only. In honour of the termination(ending) of construction of the Great transsiberian trunk-railway was solved to establish 3 monuments to Alexander III considered as the patron of the Siberian construction (in St.-Petersburg in 1909 and in Moscow in 1912). In 1902 the All-Russia competition on a construction of a memorable monument in Irkutsk was declared.The project of sculptor R.R.Baha, representing Alexander's figure III on a granite pedestal, was recognized as the best. On four sides of a monument bronze sculptural portraits of the historical figures who have left an appreciable trace in development of Siberia are placed. Bas-reliefs �� in St. Petersburg. The polished blocks from the Finnish granite are delivered from the finnish city of Ganges. On the western side inverted to Angara, there is a high relief column �. �. ��-Amur, the general - governor of Eastern Siberia since 1848-1861.With its name peace connection to Russia extensive Amur edge(territory) and signing in 1858 is connected. �� contracts with China, defined(determined) the Russian-Chinese border in area of the river Amur. On northern side - high relief Ermak, begun connection of Siberia to Russia. On a southern side - N.N.Speranskogo's high relief, the general - governor of Eastern Siberia (with 1819 on 1821), reformed management of edge(territory). On east to the party - a two-headed eagle, with �� in claws - the imperial decree about construction of the Siberian railway. At corners of a pedestal - the arms of Siberia, Irkutsk and Yenisei provinces and the Yakut area. To the right of a two-headed eagle - the arms of Irkutsk: ��, with a sable in a teeth. In 1920 under the Decree about monuments of republic the bronze sculpture of tsar and bronze inscriptions on the polished granite " to Emperor Alexander III " and " Grateful Siberia " have cleaned(removed). In 1960. Instead of a figure of tsar have established a concrete pyramidal spike under the project of Irkutsk architect V.P.Shmatkova. A monument began to name " the Monument to trailblazers of Siberia ".
