Description: Angara - river in East Siberia, right tributary of the Yenisey, escape from Baykal lake. In the lower flow earlier also it was called upper Tunguska. Area of the pond of 1039 thousand km ², including without the pond area of the pond of 1039 thousand km ² Name occurred from the buryat root of [anga] of the oznachayushchiego of "razinutyy" , "raskrytyy" , "otkrytyy" , and also "promoina" , "rasselina" , "ushchele". In the historical sources of Angar for the first time is mentioned in XIII century by the name Ankara -[Muren]. Three hydroelectric power plants (the so-called Angara cascade GES) were built on the river: in the order from the source, Irkutsk, fraternal and Ust-Ilimsk. Fourth step of cascade, Boguchanskaya GES, are located in the stage of building.
