Production of the ÀN-24T aircraft (Transport version) was started in Irkutsk in 1967 and its manufacture continued till 1971. The Plant produced 164 aircrafts during this period. A specific feature of this aircraft production was the fact that it took place ñîïñèrråïtló with the production of the YAK-28 aircraft. Parallel manufacture of two aircrafts gave a rise to a number of technical problems successfully solved by the technical services of the Plant. The AN-24T is a twin-engine turboprop-powered monoplane with a relatively thin high wing and a pressurized fuselage. The low-pressure wheels of the aircraft enable it to operate from unpaved airfields. The aircraft is adopted by the transport aviation of fhe Air Force and Navy of our country. In addition, aircrafts of this type are operated in the Air Forces of Bangladesh, Bulgaria, Viet-Nam, Hungary, Germany, Iraq, Congo, Cuba, Laos, Mongolia, Poland, Romania. Somali, Sudan. Czechoslovakia and South Yemen.
