One of the first jet-powered aircraft was the TU-14 medium jet-powered bomber-torpedo-carrier adopted by the Naval Air Force of the country. For overwater flights the aircraft was equipped with an autopilot, special flight and navigation equipment and with a set of airborne equipment to monitor operation of the turbine engines. Good adaptability of the aircraft design fo manufacture made it possible fo build 42 aircrafts in the first year of its production at the Plant. The TU-14 aircraft was adopted by the Naval Air Force which essentially improved combat capabilities and radius of action of the coastal aviation. More than fifty aircrafts of this type were delivered fo China.
