Description: Lake is located in the southern part of East Siberia. Baykal - unique lake. It the deepest on the planet the Earth is the largest accumulator of fresh water on the planet. Lake was lengthened from the north to the southwest by 636 km in the form of gigantic demilune. The width of Baykal varies from 25 to 80 km the maximum depth of lake 1 of 637 m. in Baykal of 27 islands, the largest of them - Olkhon. From lake escapes one river - Angar. In the region the earthquakes regularly occur. From the fishes, here they are conducted: omul, grayling, whitefish, sturgeon, burbot, huchen, pike.
